Does anyone know the weight of the assembly and the engine and transmission separately? Need to know to get the proper engine lift and stand. Hello Roger,
Re: BHP of 4.2 engine. About 180 bhp at the wheels if it is fit. Of course it is the twisting force at lower revs that is far more important for the XK unit (torque) which is why it is so quick, developing over 320n/m at 3,000 revs.. 4.2 Camshaft advice/recommendations needed. I am building a 4.2 short stud motor, it is running a 10:1 compression ratio but not forged pistons. I also have a five speed gear box and LSD diff. I am using a later model series three head with the bigger valves, it has been ported and polished and will mate up to a set of triple 2?

Cheapest 20W50 „diesel“ oil, 15W40, sure, depends on leakage and oil pressure. 0W30, absolutely not. Frequent changes instead of too expensive oil. 20W50 is what was recommended in the 60s and it keeps leakage to a minimum. 1 Like. bdragon (Dave) April 7, 2022, 1:17am 12.
